Out For Blood - Alyxandra Harvey

Hunter Wild is the youngest in a long line of elite vampire hunters, a legacy that is both a blessing and a curse at the secret Helios-Ra Academy, where she excels at just about everything. Thanks to her friendship with Kieran Black, Hunter receives a special invitation to attend the coronation of Helena Drake, and for the first time, she sees the difference between vampires that must be hunted and vampires that can become friends—or even more. When students at the academy fall victim to a mysterious illness, Hunter suspects they are under attack from within. She will need someone she can trust to help her save the future of Helios-Ra . . . help that shockingly comes in the form of Quinn Drake, a drop-dead gorgeous vampire. Who said senior year would be easy?

Out for Blood is the third instalment of the fun and exciting Drake Chronicles series. This time it's the turn of Quinn Drake to take up one half of the narration. Quinn's a player. He likes girls - plural - and while he's never short of a date, he's not keen on picking just one girl. At least he isn't until he meets Hunter, the other narrator of this story.

Hunter is well, a hunter. She attends the Helios-Ra High School, where vampire hunters are trained. She's from a long line of hunters and is skilled in combat and surveillance. That doesn't mean that she doesn't sometimes like to be a girl as well - which is an on going battle with her Grandfather.

I've enjoyed all the books of this series so far but I think Out for Blood is my favourite. I don't know if that's just because I'm more involved with the story now or it could be that Quinn and Hunter have been my favourite of the characters. Plus I really liked reading about the vampire hunter school. Throw in the fast paced action and witty dialogue and we have a winner. I just wish the fourth book was out sooner.
